That’s a strong pivot!

From Branding to Becoming: Why 'I Wish More' is Redefining Growth

In the summer of 2022, I met my firstborn daughter, Haisley. Holding her for the first time, I felt an undeniable sense of responsibility, an urge to build something that could one day be hers. My plan was simple: start a social media marketing agency, help businesses generate leads, and create a future I could be proud of.

But life has a way of challenging the plans we make.

I soon realized that social media marketing wasn’t something I loved. I had the skills, but my passion wasn’t there. Still, being stubborn like my mother, I refused to walk away from what I started. I pushed through, thinking that with enough effort, the passion would eventually follow.

Then, in the winter of 2024, my world shifted. My relationship with Haisley’s mother ended, and suddenly, everything I had built felt like it had no foundation. I moved to a new city, Phoenix, but I left behind more than just a home. I left behind a version of myself.

For the first time in my life, I struggled with something as simple as getting out of bed and completing a morning routine. I felt lost. So, I started over.

I went to therapy to untangle my emotions. I read every book I could find, searching for guidance in the words of others. I made EOS gym a non-negotiable part of my day, reclaiming my discipline one workout at a time. I returned to church, searching for meaning beyond the surface-level distractions of life.

Then, one night, I turned on Roadrunner, a documentary about the life of Anthony Bourdain. In one scene, he sat on a couch, smoking a cigarette in his New York apartment, talking about his daily routine. He wrote every morning, without fail.

That moment stuck with me. Writing, communication, and psychology were the things that had always fascinated me. Not marketing. Not sales funnels. Not lead generation.

I finally admitted to myself that what I had built wasn’t what I truly wanted. But instead of quitting, I realized I had an opportunity to pivot.

Rebranding to Rebuilding

I Wish More always sounded like a company that provided motivation, and now, that’s exactly what it will be.

Instead of offering marketing and website design services, I Wish More will create content for people searching for direction and purpose. Think of it as marketing yourself rather than marketing a business.

The skills I gained from launching my SMMA will allow me to operate efficiently as a one-person team, creating content with a personal, hands-on approach. This shift isn’t just about changing business models, it’s about aligning with what truly matters to me.

What I Wish More Stands For

We live in an era where AI, convenience, and entitlement make it easy to avoid struggle. But discipline, purpose, and fulfillment are what truly bring happiness, not shortcuts or material things.

"I Wish More exists to help people rediscover that truth."

Our content will speak to young adults and those in the middle stages of their lives who are searching for clarity, motivation, and personal growth.

What’s Next?

To start, I Wish More will focus on:

  • Blogs – Relatable stories that inspire self-discipline, personal growth, and finding purpose.

  • YouTube Shorts – Quick, impactful videos to inspire action

  • The Nick Lerma Podcast – Honest conversations about rebuilding, growth, and self-discovery.

In the future, we may expand into longer-form videos, emails, courses, and a community-driven experience.

Becoming More

This rebrand isn’t just about a business change, it’s my transformation.

I started I Wish More because I wanted to build something for my daughter. Now, I see it as something much bigger. It’s a message for anyone who feels lost, stuck, or unsure of their next step.

"We don’t find purpose by waiting for it to arrive. We create it by showing up, doing the work, and becoming more than we were yesterday."

If that resonates with you, welcome to I Wish More. Let’s grow together.
